GCIC Operations is an integral part of the day-to-day operation of the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office. Our personnel oversee unit locations and status, maintain constant radio communication with personnel in the field, run warrant checks on subjects, run registration checks on vehicles, and relay information and instructions to personnel in the field. Operators prepare and maintain files and record entries for GCIC (Georgia Crime Information Center) such as warrants, stolen vehicles, guns, articles, etc. They are also responsible for running criminal history background checks for firearms licenses, employment purposes, courthouse paperwork, and officer safety. GCIC Operations sent and received over 232,000 messages via the state computer system for 2020. With 75+ years of combined experience and plenty of on-the-job training, a part of our mission is to remain calm, clear, and in control in order to provide superior service to the citizens of Spalding County.
