On Friday, October 07, 2022, the Spalding County Sheriff's Office hosted the "5th Annual Sheriff Darrell Dix Golf Tournament." This year, a total of 39 teams participated in the annual fundraising event that kicked off with an invocation by Dr. Benny Tate, Pastor of Rock Springs Church, and the national anthem by Amber Balltzglier, Worship Arts Pastor of Rock Springs Church.

    This year, with the generosity of our sponsors, players, SCSO staff, and the Sun City Peachtree Golf Course, we were able to raise a total of $52,300.00!  That brings our 5-year total to nearly $180,000.00!

    According to Sheriff Darrell Dix, "It was a beautiful day to play and a fun way to help raise money for the Georgia Sheriff's Youth Homes, Spalding County Junior Deputy Program, GiGi's House, our community outreach programs, such as Santa Sheriff, Meals for Families, and scholarships. We also have local programs that we support that will each get donations now, and throughout the year. Our goal is to keep our donations here and support local community programs that have an impact right here at home."

    The SCSO wants to thank our sponsors, players, Sun City Peachtree Golf Course staff, and the many others who work hard on this annual event. This event takes a lot of planning and preparation, and everyone involved works together to help raise money for our kids and local programs each year.
