Spalding County hosts the Lighting of the Park each year just prior to Thanksgiving. It is the way we kick off the holiday season, having citizens come out and see the park light up with all the Christmas lights. Santa fly's in on the Sheriff's Office helicopter (STAR) and greets all the children that have come to see him.
